All eyes to night sky

Central and North Burnett Times - - MUNDUBBERA SHOW -

ADD fireworks to all the regular fun of the Mundubbera show with its extended Saturday night program, and you have a recipe for a spectacular time.

The town’s 82nd annual show will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 10-11.

KC’s Fireworks Displays is world-renowned as a first-class entertainment company, providing the best in fireworks in Australia, and they will impress Mundubbera show-goers on Saturday evening.

Friday will bring campdrafting and prime cattle judging, with results of cattle in feedlot aswell as grass-fed classes being judged.

Pavilion sections of cookery, horticulture, craft, farm produce and displays will also be judged on Friday.

Two new classes have been added to the cooking section of the show this year: Special Occasion Iced Cake Section (sponsored by Gary Palmer Royal Hotel) – (A) Formal Occasion and (B) Novelty.

Both classes are worth $125 to win, $75 for second place and $50 for third.

Photography, art and needlework will be judged on Thursday.

Local horse events, including gymkhana events for all ages, and some show jumping events, will be held on Friday.

Sideshows and Ultimate Entertainment from Brisbane will keep the young ones entertained both days, and the barbecue, refreshments and bar will operate.

Ultimate Entertainment will engage the children with singing and dancing shows and craft activities.

Circus artist Tyrone O’Reilly will capture plenty of attention as he walks on stilts breathing and spinning fire and demonstrating other circus skills.

Patrons can double their luck when guessing the weight of a beast this year, as live and dead weights can be guessed and trade displays will have something to interest everyone.

The show office will be operating from the showgrounds from 10am Monday, May 6, not Mundubbera FurnitureCourt as it has in previous years.
