IT HAS been a bright start to the year for Bri­enna Jame­son.

The tal­ented eques­trian com­peti­tor is on her way to the National Cham­pi­onships.

Jame­son trav­elled to Burpen­gary on April 6-7 for the 2013 In­ter­school State Event­ing Cham­pi­onships.

The Gayn­dah girl and her horse Handy Andy fin­ished se- cond in the pre­lim class.

They re­ceived the Re­serve Cham­pion sash and sad­dle cloth and are in the state team head­ing to Perth in Septem­ber for the National Cham­pi­onships.

The pair have been busy in the com­pet­i­tive arena this year.

Jame­son came fourth in ju­nior pre-novice class and fifth in the open pre-novice class at the Toowoomba ODE on April 20-21.

And she fin­ished fifth in the open pre­lim class at the Three Day In­ter­na­tional Dav­car Event held at Mor­gan Park on March 22-24.

Jame­son is jug­gling her promis­ing eques­trian ca­reer with her year 12 stud­ies at Scots PGC Col­lege.
