Duo make rep team
AFL is making waves in the Central and North Burnett.
Gayndah juniors Callan Trott and Ryley Drayton are headed to the Sunshine Coast in June for State Championships. The boys have been selected in the Wide Bay team that will compete in the fiveday carnival.
Drayton and Trott were selected after they played for the North Burnett AFL team in Hervey Bay last week.
Coached by Michelle Geary the team played its first ever games against Hervey Bay, Gympie and Maryborough, South Burnett and Bundaberg.
North Burnett drew against neighbouring rivals South Burnett, but unfortunately went down in the rest of their games.
The whole team developed confidence and skills over the two day competition and looks to be a force in future years.
Drayton and Trott have started a raffle to help raise money towards their state levies and costs.
The winner will receive an AFL jersey of their choice, and the runner up will win an AFL cap of their choice.
Tickets can be bought at Gayndah State School or from the boys.
