Homerun star shows his style
Top effort may earn state squad spot
TYSON Curtis is one talented sportsman.
He hit 11 home runs in the Queensland under-15 softball trials in Ipswich and is waiting to hear if he has been successful in selection into the state team.
The Year 9 Monto State High School student has been playing softball for three years and, with no local softball club, he travels to Gladstone to train and play.
The 14-year-old played for the Gladstone representative team in the Ipswich trials over three days.
He made Queensland selection in Years 6 and 7 and is hoping to go well again this year.
Curtis also plays rugby league and rates it as his number one sport, with softball coming a close second.
“I enjoy both sports, but I think I’ll persue football more closely when I finish school,” he said.
