Quilters’ gift keeps on giving

Central and North Burnett Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

A GIFT from almost 200km will keep giving to the Mundubbera community.

The Mundubbera Lemon Quilters have used $600 donated to them by a quilter group at Theodore, about 179km north-west of Mundubbera, to buy a new overlocker.

In a letter to the quilters, the Patches and Stitches group expressed their empathy to their counterparts concerning the 2010/11 floods, and signed it from their “sisters in patchwork”.

The Mundubbera quilters said theywere amazed by the gesture.

“We are so grateful for their kindness and decided to buy a good-quality overlocker,” quilter Lyn Carlyon said.

“Whenever we use it we’ll remember the generosity of the Theodore quilters,” she said.
