Born and bred here, Tris­tan cel­e­brates 21st

MONTO Hos­pi­tal em­ployee Tris­tan Whit­ley re­cently cel­e­brated his 21st birth­day and he is happy to call the town home.

Mr Whit­ley is an op­er­a­tional of­fi­cer at the hos­pi­tal, a po­si­tion mainly in­volved with clean­ing.

Tris­tan is Monto born and bred, and has held the job for 15 months.

Asked about his favourite hobby, he said he en­joyed com­put­ing.

“I was lucky to get the job, as I was ba­si­cally in the right place at the right time,” Mr Whit­ley said.

“Pre­vi­ously Iworked at Bleys Butcher for six to seven months on a part­time ba­sis, but nowI have a full-time job to pay off a house and car.

“The best part of the job is talk­ing to peo­ple. There are many in­ter­est­ing peo­ple here ev­ery day.”

He said the best way to en­joy Monto was to get a boat or jet ski and head to Ca­nia.
