Horseman coming to Bush Spirit Festival
THE Bush Spirit Festival will host iconic horseman Guy McLean.
Mr McLean is a perfect fit for Eidsvold’s RM Williams Learning Centre festival on June 1, with its theme Horse and Heritage.
The Australian horseman, entertainer and bush poet now lives inTexas, USA, but originally hails from the Wide Bay’s Susan River Homestead.
He will be bringing his Finding a Better Way demonstration back to Australia, for what is sure to be a highlight of the Bush Spirit Festival.
John Day, centre manager of the RM Williams Australian Bush Learning Centre, said the festival’s entertainment was woven around a blend of horse specialists like Mr McLean.
“He typifies the true spirit of this year’s fes- tival theme, Horse and Heritage,” Mr Day said.
“Guy McLean is such an inspiring and talented horseman who provides dynamic, informative, educational and exciting performances.
“Having him be a part of our festival is such a fantastic opportunity for the North Burnett community.
“We are really looking forward to seeing him perform.”
Visitors to the festival will see heavy horses atwork, blacksmithing, woodworking, horse shoeing, chainsawing demonstrations and a variety of horse sports.
Bush poets will provide a light-hearted atmosphere, and bush crafts will be available from stall holders.
