THE teaching staff has been strengthened at St Joseph’s Primary School.

Maddy Sherriff and Kate Colvin, teachers at the Gayndah school, have received tertiary degrees.

Ms Sheriff was awarded her Bachelor of Education (Primary) and Ms Colvin was awarded her Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching.

The efforts of Ms Colvin were particularly outstanding, as she was also presented with an award from the Australian College of Educators for displaying “outstanding ability in academic studied” during her time at university.

Ms Colvin’s Diploma goes with her Bachelor of Engineering.

St Joseph’s principal Liam Dougherty said the teachers should be commended for their achievements.

“Congratulations to our two teachers,” he said.

“Well done Maddy and Kate.”
