STATE schools across Queensland have celebrated State Education Week 2013 from May 5–11 by opening their doors to the community.

The annual week-long celebration is an opportunity to recognise the talent and achievements of students and teachers in state schools, and showcase their wonderful work to the wider community.

Schools get involved in State Education Week by hosting their own events – from morning teas and open days, to special school parades and art shows.

Schools also celebrate P&C Day to acknowledge the important work that is being done by parents’ and citizens’ associations. P&C Day is held tomorrow, May 10.
