Age no learn­ing limit

THREE Biggenden res­i­dents know age is no limit when it comes to learn­ing.

Etu­vate Seru, Carol Miller and Jill Led­widge said they had re­ally en­joyed get­ting to know their com­put­ers af­ter un­der­tak­ing a ba­sic com­puter skills course through Bur­nett Adult Tu­tor­ing So­ci­ety.

Co-or­di­na­tor and tu­tor Merry-Anne Bren­nan pre­sented the trio with cer­tifi­cates, af­ter they had com­pleted the 10-week course at the 10 Caro­line St busi­ness.

“It is not just about teach­ing them about Word doc­u­ments, but it’s more get­ting them to be com­fort­able with their com­put­ers,” Mrs Bren­nan said.

“If there is a need, we can cre­ate a course, as we have the nec­es­sary books and equip­ment to do so.”

Any­one in­ter­ested in find­ing out more, the cen­tre is open Mon­days from morn­ing tea time.

So drop in for a cuppa and a chat and learn more about the cen­tre.

The group is also hold­ing an open day at the Caro­line St cen­tre on Satur­day, June 29, 7am–2pm and al­ready 16 mar­ket stalls have booked to show their wares at the event.
