THE Mulgildie sportsground hosted two days of campdraft action and returning competitors said the standard of the draft was higher than in the past, thanks to a new camp and quality cattle.

The event was also blessed with good weather.

Dean Warren, from Jandowae, was exceptional and won the maiden (with 174 points) and novice on his horse, Commissioner, and took out fourth in the maiden on a different horse.

The event would not have been possible without the support of the community, especially after the floods.

Other top place getters in the open were Don Williams on Acrobat (174 points) and Geoff Seeds on Dee-Dee (171 points).
