Small town’s creative soul

MEMBERS of the Mt Perry Fine Art Group have been enjoying a busy year.

Mt Perry may be a small town but the art group has about 30 members and volunteers.

In March the exhibition Creative Collection was launched.

The exhibition is a collection of artworks showcasing the diverse talents and adventurous spirits of the group’s members.

The group works in all media and styles of art and craft. Its supportive approach encourages members to jump into the unknown and try new art practices.

After about 20 years, the Mt Perry Fine Arts Group continues to be a vibrant part of the community. It holds at least four art workshops each the year, hosts the regionally recognised Annual Art Exhibition each September and manages the Mt Perry Fine Arts Gallery, with more than 100 exhibitions to date.

At the Creative Collection exhibition opening, Cr John Bowen presented president Shelley Kelly with a cheque for $1500, on behalf of the North Burnett Regional Council, as ongoing support by the council for arts across the shire.
