Hospital’s new face

Central and North Burnett Times - - LOCAL NEWS -

THE newly appointed director of nursing of the Biggenden Multi Purpose Health Service, Heather MacKellar, is looking forward to living and working in the area.

After aweek on the job, Mrs MacKellar said the complex was impressive.

“The original buildingwas a beautiful old building, but this is much more practical,” Mrs MacKellar said.

“I have been a nurse for more than 35 years, having undertaken general and midwifery training in Mackay.

“I then went to work in small rural hospitals around the state and had been at Moura Hospital since 1999 before coming to Biggenden.”

Married with two adult children, the MacKellars have owned a property in the Coringa area since 1986, which they had been managing remotely.
