New board of nine
FOUR additional board members, including two from theNorth Burnett, have been appointed to the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service Board.
Former North Burnett Mayor Joy Jensen and Mundubbera’s Paul Dare, along with businessmen Chris Hyne and Bob Evans, will join the board, bringing the total members to nine.
“I am delighted that representation has now been spread equitably across the region with two board members from the North Burnett on this new board,” Joy Jensen said.
“Of course we will be representing all of the Wide Bay but the local knowledge about the North Burnett will be invaluable in strategic planning for the region.
“I am looking forward to taking up the role on this board.
“I am very aware of the communities’ concerns about health services especially important to those of us who live in rural areas.”
Baptist minister Pastor Paul Dare will also represent the North Burnett on the board.
The state-wide independent boards were reappointed last week . The first meeting of the new board will be held on June 21.
