New board of nine

FOUR ad­di­tional board mem­bers, in­clud­ing two from theNorth Bur­nett, have been ap­pointed to the Wide Bay Hos­pi­tal and Health Ser­vice Board.

For­mer North Bur­nett Mayor Joy Jensen and Mun­dub­bera’s Paul Dare, along with busi­ness­men Chris Hyne and Bob Evans, will join the board, bring­ing the to­tal mem­bers to nine.

“I am de­lighted that rep­re­sen­ta­tion has now been spread eq­ui­tably across the re­gion with two board mem­bers from the North Bur­nett on this new board,” Joy Jensen said.

“Of course we will be rep­re­sent­ing all of the Wide Bay but the lo­cal knowl­edge about the North Bur­nett will be in­valu­able in strate­gic plan­ning for the re­gion.

“I am look­ing for­ward to tak­ing up the role on this board.

“I am very aware of the com­mu­ni­ties’ con­cerns about health ser­vices es­pe­cially im­por­tant to those of us who live in ru­ral ar­eas.”

Bap­tist min­is­ter Pas­tor Paul Dare will also rep­re­sent the North Bur­nett on the board.

The state-wide in­de­pen­dent boards were reap­pointed last week . The first meet­ing of the new board will be held on June 21.
