EMMA Op­per­man is proudly spon­sored by Gayn­dah Ro­tary in the Or­ange Fes­ti­val Queen com­pe­ti­tion.

The 21-year-old Gayn­dah girl is pas­sion­ate about her com­mu­nity.

Emma’s in­ter­est in cat­tle and ru­ral is­sues led her to UQ Gat­ton, where she stud­ies a Bach­e­lor of Ap­plied Science Pro­duc­tion An­i­mal Science.

With her fu­ture in pro­duc­tion an­i­mals, Emma even­tual- ly wants to com­plete a teach­ing de­gree to teach agri­cul­tural science.

Study­ing ex­ter­nally, Emma lives in Gayn­dah and works at Bur­nett State Col­lege as a li­brar­ian and teacher’s aide.

It’s the 50th an­niver­sary of Bur­nett State Col­lege this year and Emma is busy or­gan­is­ing the school’s his­tory into a limited-edi­tion book.

A reg­u­lar fix­ture at Gayn­dah’s net­ball com­pe­ti­tion on Mon­day nights, Emma loves keep­ing fit and play­ing sports.
