Cadet pro­gram re­turns

UN­DER the di­rec­tion of PCYC, the Emer­gency Ser­vices Cadet Pro­gram is back on track and Biggenden youth couldn’t be hap­pier.

Af­ter a pub­lic meet­ing, ap­pli­ca­tions for the 19 cadets and 18 adult lead­ers are be­ing pro­cessed.

Biggenden PCYC SES Cadet Unit co-or­di­na­tor Moira Thomp­son said uni­forms would have the new PCYC badge and should be avail­able to or­der soon.

“The next stage is to gauge what stock re­mains in Biggenden and draw up a bud­get,” Mrs Thomp­son said. “At present an agree­ment to use the Biggenden SES shed is be­ing ne­go­ti­ated be­tween PCYC and North Bur­nett Re­gional Coun­cil.

fol­lowed, it is es­ti­mated that cadet train­ing will be­gin in Term 3, hope­fully July 9,” she said.

Train­ing nights will be Tues­days 6pm-8pm.
