Lauren wins $10,000 for study
NURSING student Lauren Roth, originally from Eidsvold, has won a $10,000 Arrow Energy Indigenous Tertiary Scholarship to support her studies at university.
She was among 25 scholarship winners from six universities across Queensland.
Ms Roth is a proud Wakka-Wakka woman and began her career as a primary health worker at the Bundaberg Indigenous Wellbeing Centre.
Now in the first year of her Bachelor of Nursing at Central Queensland University, she plans to work in remote indigenous communities after her graduation.
Arrow Energy CEO Andrew Faulkner said the scholarships were complete educational packages that included mentoring, tutoring and peer support networks so students had the best support to achieve their goals.
The scholarships were announced at the launch of Arrow’s Reconciliation Action Plan.
