Lau­ren wins $10,000 for study

NURS­ING stu­dent Lau­ren Roth, orig­i­nally from Eidsvold, has won a $10,000 Ar­row En­ergy In­dige­nous Ter­tiary Schol­ar­ship to sup­port her stud­ies at univer­sity.

She was among 25 schol­ar­ship win­ners from six uni­ver­si­ties across Queens­land.

Ms Roth is a proud Wakka-Wakka woman and be­gan her ca­reer as a pri­mary health worker at the Bund­aberg In­dige­nous Well­be­ing Cen­tre.

Now in the first year of her Bach­e­lor of Nurs­ing at Cen­tral Queens­land Univer­sity, she plans to work in re­mote in­dige­nous com­mu­ni­ties af­ter her grad­u­a­tion.

Ar­row En­ergy CEO An­drew Faulkner said the schol­ar­ships were com­plete ed­u­ca­tional pack­ages that in­cluded men­tor­ing, tu­tor­ing and peer sup­port net­works so stu­dents had the best sup­port to achieve their goals.

The schol­ar­ships were an­nounced at the launch of Ar­row’s Rec­on­cil­i­a­tion Ac­tion Plan.
