THE Gayndah Orange Festival Queen will be crowned on Saturday night.

The Gala Ball kicks off the week of celebrations.

Thousands of revellers enjoy the activities and events of the famous festival.

Festival president Narrelle Emmerton said things would kick into gear when the Queen was crowned.

“The Gala Ball will be a night of glitz and glamour, especially when everyone sees the decorations in the hall,” she said.

“Each girl will be presented and will have a quick interview with our comperes, Phil and Jo Dowling.”

The Miss Personality will be awarded first, chosen by the Orange Festival Queen entrants.

As well as the Orange Festival Queen, a runner-up and Charity Queen will be announced.

After the formalities the party starts, with entertainment by Trace.

Mrs Emmerton said the theme was tutti fruity carnivale, and everyone should get into the spirit.

“We encourage people to dress up in bright colours and have fun,” she said.
