For her week of work experience she headed to Childers to work in the Hot Bread and Cake Shop.

Casey said she had a great time.

“I got the opportunity to make meat pies, apple turnovers, pasties sausage rolls and decorate the products,” she said.

Other students enjoyed their work experience at HD Mechanical at Childers, Biggenden Flowers & Gifts, Bulimba Vet Hospital, Vacandi Hair at Childers, Hetherington’s Gym at Dalianis, Biggenden District Health Services and Biggenden State School.

All students reported positive experiences working with adults in the business world.

The valuable experiences gained, both in self confidence and work place skills, will be used as stepping stones in their future career pathways.
