Biggenden sale draws 900 head

NORTH Bur­nett agents Monto Cat­tle & Coun­try saw rises for bet­ter qual­ity meat­works cat­tle and store steers but heifers re­mained down at about the 130c/kg mark.

Heavy bulls sold 113–133c/kg. PW & MM Lobegeier con­signed char­bray bul­locks 560kg that sold to 147c/kg or $825.

Shane and Helen Moss­man of Yal­warra, Ubobo sold brah­man 660kg bul­locks for 142c/kg. Mary Rice, Eidsvold sold 413kg No 1 trade steers to 147c/kg or $610.

Ron and Marg Hamp­son sold santa cows 560kg for 130c/kg or $730. John Cahlane sold 6 tooth heifers for 137c/kg or $780. Wayne Goody’s 545kg santa cross cows sold to 119c/kg or $650.

Matt Pat­tie con­signed here­ford/an­gus cross No 2 heifers 380kg for 137c/kg or $520. He also sold an­gus steers 423kg for 162.2c/kg or $686.

Trevor Zielke, Glad­stone sold a run of No 2 droughtie cross steers that av­er­aged 152c/kg or $482.

Roy Mar­bach sold a run of 110 char­bray and bran­gus cross weaner steers to aver­age $380 or $174c/kg.

Meiss­ner Pas­toral Co. yarded cracker euro cross wean­ers, with the steers sell­ing to $505 or 166c/kg and heifers to $350 or 127c/kg.

Justin Brian sold four pens of char­bray, brah­man and drought­mas­ter cross No 2 & 3 heifers 117–129c/kg to aver­age $330.

Ron Goody’s drought­mas­ter cross weaner heifers sold to 133c/kg or $300.

Mary Rice sold weaner here­ford heifers to 130c/kg or $225.

Monto’s next sale will be the an­nual store cat­tle and show sale June 12 at 10am.
