Biggenden sale draws 900 head
NORTH Burnett agents Monto Cattle & Country saw rises for better quality meatworks cattle and store steers but heifers remained down at about the 130c/kg mark.
Heavy bulls sold 113–133c/kg. PW & MM Lobegeier consigned charbray bullocks 560kg that sold to 147c/kg or $825.
Shane and Helen Mossman of Yalwarra, Ubobo sold brahman 660kg bullocks for 142c/kg. Mary Rice, Eidsvold sold 413kg No 1 trade steers to 147c/kg or $610.
Ron and Marg Hampson sold santa cows 560kg for 130c/kg or $730. John Cahlane sold 6 tooth heifers for 137c/kg or $780. Wayne Goody’s 545kg santa cross cows sold to 119c/kg or $650.
Matt Pattie consigned hereford/angus cross No 2 heifers 380kg for 137c/kg or $520. He also sold angus steers 423kg for 162.2c/kg or $686.
Trevor Zielke, Gladstone sold a run of No 2 droughtie cross steers that averaged 152c/kg or $482.
Roy Marbach sold a run of 110 charbray and brangus cross weaner steers to average $380 or $174c/kg.
Meissner Pastoral Co. yarded cracker euro cross weaners, with the steers selling to $505 or 166c/kg and heifers to $350 or 127c/kg.
Justin Brian sold four pens of charbray, brahman and droughtmaster cross No 2 & 3 heifers 117–129c/kg to average $330.
Ron Goody’s droughtmaster cross weaner heifers sold to 133c/kg or $300.
Mary Rice sold weaner hereford heifers to 130c/kg or $225.
Monto’s next sale will be the annual store cattle and show sale June 12 at 10am.
