President bows out after big success
NARALLE Emmerton went out in style for her last year in charge of Gayndah’s largest event.
The president of the Orange Festival committee announced that this was her last year as chief organiser.
The committee put on a tutti fruitti carnivale to remember at the weekend with thousands of visitors in attendance.
Mrs Emmerton said it was a fitting time to give the position to someone else and to go out with a bang.

festival this year and I’d like to go out on a high,” she said. “I’d like to spend next festival just being able to relax and enjoy the festival.”
The Orange Festival committee will hold an annual general meeting in September, where a decision will be made on the new president. “I think someone else needs to stand up to the mark and have their turn,” Mrs Emmerton said. “But I will always be there ready to lend a hand.”
