IN THE last fortnight the Mundubbera State School community has been engaged in creating mosaics to mark its centenary under the guidance of talented mosaic artist and teacher, Sandy Robertson.
The creation of the main centenary mosaic, measuring 2.4m x 1.2m, and five smaller mosaics, measuring about 50cm x 70cm, is being made possible by funding from RADF and Mundubbera P&C Association.
Students and interested parents and community members learned how to cut tesseraes into different shapes and how to glue them.
“Feedback from students has been positive, even the boys have not stopped talking to their parents about what they’ve learned,” Mundubbera P&C treasurer Ros Kugel said.
“Thanks must go to the talented Sandy Robertson, of OZMosaics, and her husband Davie who have connected with the students in a positive way.”
