Packed with country charm

Central and North Burnett Times - - MENUS AND VENUES -

WHO can resist the charms of a country pub?

Mark and Trish purchased the lease on the Waratah Hotel seven months ago and love their little community.

On a hillside in Mungungo, the Waratah Hotel is about 11km from Monto on the Gladstone-Monto Rd.

The public bar has a great collection of memorabilia with photos dating back to the early 1900s.

Diners can relax by a cosy fireplace and there is a pool table and children’s area, complete with movies and toys.

A courtesy bus, covering the Monto area, is available when one or two turn into a few! Tuesday is the only day the courtesy bus doesn’t run and the kitchen is closed.

Lunch is served 11.30am to 2pm, dinner 6–8.30pm, and all meals are also available take-away.

The Reef n Beef is a popular item on the menu.

Home-made pies are available seven days.

To book a table or the courtesy bus call 4166 5166 and check out events and specials on the Mungungo Pub Facebook page.
