Lucy’s skills tested
Eidsvold girl kicks off a bright future in her favourite sport
EIDSVOLD’S Lucy Thompson continues to improve her soccer skills and last weekend she put those skills to work when she played with the U17 Girls’ Bundaberg Rep team in round one of the Wide Bay Championships.
The team won both games against Gympie and the second round will be played in July.
Thompson plays for Across the Waves in Division 1 Ladies this year and travels to Bundaberg every Monday night for training and on Friday for the games.
The Burnett State College student last year won a scholarship to attend an American college and further her soccer after she finishes Year 12.
“I like playing soccer as you can meet new people and it also keeps me active,” she said.
“I'm hoping that this gives me greater achievements in the future.”
