Shooters build ranks
THE Monto and District Pistol Club meets on the third Saturday of the month.
The club has been operating for almost 25 years and the membership is a about 20 people.
Usually between 10 – 14 people arrive for a shoot.
A day at the club is divided into the morning for serious competition and the afternoon for visitors to try their hand.
This is an affordable club with annual membership of $90 and no weapons licence required unless gun ownership is sought.
Visitors are allowed three free shoots before deciding if they want to join.
The club encourages responsible weapons usage and is always looking for new members.
If you are interested in joining or satisfying your curiosity, phone Steve Colloard on 4167 8145.
PRACTICE: Peter Hansen (from left), Sam Doust and Kate Ryan fire a few rounds at the Monto Pistol Club.
