SES is now on top of any call outs

COMMUNICATION problems during emergencies could be a thing of the past after SES received an advanced communications trailer on Saturday.

The Rotary Club of Monto handed over the keys to the trailer at the Monto races on Saturday.

The state of the art communications trailer uses solar power via panels on top of the trailer.

The trailer has a UHF radio, satellite telephone and other ancillary equipment.

Former Rotary president Russell Larsen said the idea to fundraise for the equipment came after the floods in early 2013 when communication became a problem for emergency services.
