A FULL-HOUSE of glitz and glamour is anticipated for the announcement of Monto’s Miss Showgirl on Saturday night.

Donna Baker, who was awarded Miss Showgirl Queensland 2013, would hand over her crown at the official dinner at Monto’s Café Delicious, Monto Show Society spokesman Beryl Avis said.

To encourage community attendance, ticket prices were dropped by about $20 after the entertainment was cancelled, Ms Avis said.

The show society cancelled the Footlights Theatre Restaurant troupe as not enough tickets were sold.

“We’re in drought and finances are tight,” she explained.

Ms Avis said the troupe was booked for this year’s Miss Showgirl dinner after they wowed a crowd of 220 people in Monto about five years ago.

Ms Avis praised the community’s generous support from donations to their presence at the Monto Show.
