Two battle for title
BIGGENDEN Miss Showgirl 2014 entrants Taliah Faint and Samantha Ward will face the judges this Saturday before the winner is announced at the society’s gala night.
Miss Showgirl 2013 KrystalWilson, who will sash the winner, said the past year had been a great experience and a confidence builder.
“It has been a great opportunity to see the show from behind the scenes.
“Meeting the girls from the other show societies of the sub chamber was also special.”
Co-ordinator Nicole Gibbs said Miss Showgirl and Rural Ambassador awards were about involving the youth of our district in our local show.
“This is not a beauty contest nor is it a “brains” test, as an entrant you represent our youth, our show and our community,” she said.
“Both winner and runner up will be called upon to present sashes and trophies as well as selling raffle tickets, promoting events at the show and highlights of Biggenden Show, mingling and talking to show patrons.”
Rural Ambassador 2013 Sheree Beddows was unable to attend the sub-chamber judging last year due to the birth of her son, but will fly the Biggenden’s flag at this year’s judging.
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, including Cr LoftyWendt, the Biggenden Show Society has reduced door tickets from $25 to $15.
Tickets are available from Burnett Livestock and Realty, but a limited number will be available at the door on the night.
Mrs Gibbs said even though the district has had rain, the gala would be an opportunity to take a night off and enjoy good company, good music by Ryan Giles and some good food.
YEAR TO END: Queensland Miss Showgirl 2012 Jessica Rollinson, with Biggenden's Miss Showgirl 2013 Krystal Wilson, said her year has been a great experience and confidence builder.
