THEODORE Roost­ers look to be the favourites for this year’s pre­mier­ship af­ter down­ing de­fend­ing pre­miers Monto on Fri­day night 36-22.

South Bur­nett re­sults were round 1 Wondai def Mur­gon and Kin­garoy def Nanango.

In round two, Cher­bourg played its first game of the sea­son af­ter Bur­rum pulled out of the com­pe­ti­tion.

The Hor­nets de­feated Nanango 44-24, while Mur­gon bested Kin­garoy, 34-30.

The first of the Cen­tral and South Bur­nett group matches start this weekend in Mun­dub­bera.

The full day of foot­ball will kick off with the Cen­tral Bur­nett Ju­nior Brum­bys play­ing Mur­gon in all grades in­clud­ing un­der 18s.

First of the Triple header A grade games will see Theodore Roost­ers and Nanango Stags do bat­tle at 3pm.

The Stags are yet to reg­is­ter a win while the Roost­ers have won their open­ing two games.

Gayn­dah Gla­di­a­tors and Mur­gon Mus­tangs clash in the next game at 4.45pm.

Gla­di­a­tors may find it tough go­ing against the Mus­tangs af­ter the Mus­tangs de­feated Kin­garoy last week.

Match of the day is the Mun­dub­bera Tigers up against the Kin­garoy Red Ants at 6.30pm.

Tigers will have to play mis­take-free foot­ball if they have any chance of up­set­ting the Red Ants.
