Roads seal of approval
PROBABLY the best piece of news for the area is the allocation of State Government funds to the upgrading and bitumen sealing of an extended section of the Monto–Mt Perry Rd.
The council has been working with the Main Roads Department and Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney to access Royalties for Regions funds for this road.
Minister Seeney has just confirmed government approval for sealing a major section of the remaining gravel section of the road.
I sincerely thank Jeff Seeney for his work in arranging these funds.
Cr Faye Whelan and I have just attended the National Tidy Towns Awards presentation, where Mundubbera was one of the seven state finalists who met to determine a national winner.
A number of separate awards were presented and Mundubbera was recognised with the top award in the Young Legends category.
Full marks to Mundubbera School for their creative efforts and dedication in utilising waste and making full use of all available products.
Similarly, the town achieved high commendation for partnering with the BlazeAid workers throughout and after the flooding.
