Warren laughs all way to title
TEEING off in perfect conditions, golfers laughed their way around the course for the Eidsvold Open.
Club president Terry “Tub” Haupt said the beautiful weather provided a perfect day for golf last Sunday.
Haupt believed people nominated for the open because they knew it was a chance to have a laugh and take part in friendly competition.
In between cracking jokes, Scott Warren won the A-grade competition in relaxed style.
“Scotty Warren once again showed his capability with the golf club,” Haupt said.
“He wasn’t even trying, he just goes in and plays and enjoys himself.”
The atmosphere of camaraderie paid off for Russell Rose who took out the B-grade longest drive.
“It was one of the better shots you’d ever see,” Haupt said.
Haupt was pleased the hard work of the golf club paid off for the open.
He said members banded together to provide a top-class course for the competition.
“Special thanks to the members who donated their time to have the course looking like a picture and a special thanks to all the sponsors for the prizes they donated for the day,” Haupt said.
Plans are underway for the club to hold a three-man ambrose in May.
