Gardening guru coming to Gayndah Show
GARDENING guru Tom Wyatt will be at the Gayndah Show to give tips on all things green this Saturday.
He is deservedly a household name around much of Queensland after giving gardening tips and practical advice for almost two decades on ABC Radio.
Whether you’re an old hand at getting your hands dirty in the garden, or taking the first step in setting one up, Tom Wyatt can help you with all your gardening needs.
He is a walking encyclopaedia of gardening knowledge, particularly when it comes to tropical and sub-tropical plants.
Tom drew many fans when he came to Biggenden last year to pass on his knowledge with the rose gardens and the adopt-a-pots in the main business area.
His workshop at the monthly markets attracted some Gayndah residents who posed the question, “Why don’t we ask him to our 100th Gayndah Show?”.
Tom never lets people forget his first commandment – “Thou shalt love thy compost heap! If it’s an insect and it eats your plants, spray it till it’s dead! If it’s a cane toad, squash it! If it’s unthrifty, put a compost bomb under it! Take no prisoners. This is a Tom Wyatt garden”.
Residents are encouraged to bring along their questions or any plant cuttings they want more information on.
There will be two sessions near the pavilion, the first at 10.30am then 1.30pm.
ON HIS WAY: Gardening guru Tom Wyatt.
