Easter is the most significant event of the Christian calendar and commemorates the resurrection of Jesus.

The date on which Easter falls varies from year to year. Easter falls on the Sunday after the ecclesiastical full moon that falls on or after March 21. Easter is therefore observed between late March and late April and can extend to early May in the Eastern Christian churches.

Hot cross buns are sweet, spiced buns made with dried fruit and leavened with yeast. Across, the symbol of Christ, is placed on top of the buns. The buns are traditionally eaten on Good Friday.

Earlyon Easter Sunday morning, the Easter Bunny delivers chocolate Easter eggs. The rabbit as a symbol of Easter seems to have originated in Germany where it was first recorded in writings in the 16th century.
