CATTLE PRICES KICK
EASTERN states cattle indicators continued to climb this week, despite yardings lifting 56% week-on-week, to more than 57,000 head. The higher supply follows last week’s rain-reduced supply in most of the south-east regions. Medium steers made the strongest gains, jumping 25c, to 354c/kg cwt, while heavy steers gained five cents, to 366c/kg cwt. Medium cows continued to generate strong interest from processors and were up 10c, to 291c/kg cwt.
