Bjelke-Petersen Dam: Nice yellowbelly being caught on hard bodied lures down deep. Pick a lure that will dive 6m plus and try trolling in the main basin. Bass are being caught on blades if you can find a school of them and jig in amongst them on the points and around structure. Red claw are still hit and miss but most catching around 30-40 (some catching more) per day.
Boondooma Dam: Another good week on the water for some!!!! Share farmers out in numbers again please if it’s not yours don’t check it. When the share farmers aren’t checking your pots good size redclaw are being caught. The week started off with reports of 50cm + yellows being landed trolling hard bodies. As the week went on the yellows dropped to the bottom and jigging became the method of choice. Bass are the active fish at the moment, big and small troll or flick everything seems to work for the bass.
Somerset Dam: The dam has risen after the rain and is now at 100% capacity. Fishing might be tough with the inflow of water, but you could try bait fishing for golden perch, bass and eeltail catfish off the banks or troll spinner baits for golden perch and bass along the newly covered banks.
Coolmunda Dam: Golden perch on saltwater yabbies and silver perch on live worms throughout the dam. There has been a 7% rise in water level.
Cooby Dam: The dam has had a rise in water level to 100% capacity. Golden perch have been caught on vertically worked blades, trolled lures and frozen saltwater yabbies out from the pontoon, the buoy line at the wall and around the point opposite the boat ramp.
Glenlyon Dam: Golden perch on frozen saltwater yabbies, live shrimp and trolled hard bodied lures and a few cod on spinner baits and live shrimp.
Leslie Dam: Golden perch on frozen saltwater yabbies in about 8 metres of water in the main basin and a few cod to 80cm on trolled lures.
Coastal: Spotty mackerel, longtail and mack tuna in Platypus Bay, spotty mackerel around the Fairway Buoy, flathead and bream in Sandy Straits. Flathead and whiting along the beaches from Burrum Heads to Urangan, banana prawns in the rivers and mud crabs at the mouth of the rivers and creeks In the Hervey Bay area. Flathead between the Noosa River mouth and Tewantin reach, sand whiting on the banks at the river mouth, Frying Pan and Munna Point and mangrove jack in Woods Bay and Weyba Creek at Noosa. Spanish mackerel on Fidos Reef and off Black Rock, mack tuna on Palm Beach Reef, jew off the south wall at Kingscliff.
Offshore: Spanish mackerel and tuskfish on the Barwon Banks the past few days at Mooloolaba. Spanish and spotty mackerel in 33m east of Southport. Snapper, moses perch, mahi mahi, wahoo and trag jew around Cook Island and the Mud Hole at the Tweed.
