THE wigs are ready and the toes are tapping in preparation for a musical extravaganza.

Mundubbera P-10 students have been hard at work at rehearsals for Just Desserts.

Dance coach Georg Kassulke said preparations were on track for show nights on May 2 and 3.

The stage has been dressed and students are rehearsing in full costume.

“The kids are all putting in a great effort,” Ms Kassulke said.

“There are lots of very talented students and this is an opportunity for them to demonstrate their talent for the community.

“It is also a chance for them to give back to the community some entertainment.”

Ms Kassulke’s daughter, Nat, landed a lead part as a hair-obsessed supermarket worker.

As well as singing and dancing, Nat will have to change in and out of 12 wigs on show night.

The 13-year-old had been in a previous musical as part of the chorus and was nervous about stepping into the limelight.

“I’m a bit worried that I’ll forget my lines,” Nat said.

“I’m looking forward to the laughs — and the wigs, just going out there and having everyone say, ‘oh my god’.”
