Big trip reels them in

BIGGEN­DEN Fish­ing Club mem­bers have the op­por­tu­nity for the “trip of a life­time”.

Club mem­ber Ruth Rokesky said the Howard Fish­ing Club had or­gan­ised a fish­ing ad­ven­ture trip to Karumba in mid-July 2016, and have in­vited fel­low mem­bers to go with them.

“Some of them joined us for lunch on our trip to Bux­ton to give us an up­date on how the plans are pro­gress­ing,” Ms Rokesky said.

“Some of our mem­bers are al­ready ex­cited about go­ing as it will be a trip of a life­time.”

Howard Fish­ing Club’s May Roth said the trip cov­er­ing six weeks is be­ing or­gan­ised to cel­e­brate the club’s 30th an­niver­sary.

“We will be hop­ping our way up through in­land Queens­land and call­ing into var­i­ous well known fish­ing holes along the way,” Ms Roth said.

“I know there is a good fish­ing hole at Croy­don as well as red claw and bar­ra­mundi at Theresa Ck while at Char­ters Tow­ers an­glers can check out the gold me­mora­bilia be­fore we head for Karumba.

“On the way back we’re told there is some good fish­ing in the dam at Clon­curry.

“We’ll then head to Win­ton and Lon­greach be­fore fish­ing for yel­low belly in the muddy Old Bar­coo.”
