Big trip reels them in
BIGGENDEN Fishing Club members have the opportunity for the “trip of a lifetime”.
Club member Ruth Rokesky said the Howard Fishing Club had organised a fishing adventure trip to Karumba in mid-July 2016, and have invited fellow members to go with them.
“Some of them joined us for lunch on our trip to Buxton to give us an update on how the plans are progressing,” Ms Rokesky said.
“Some of our members are already excited about going as it will be a trip of a lifetime.”
Howard Fishing Club’s May Roth said the trip covering six weeks is being organised to celebrate the club’s 30th anniversary.
“We will be hopping our way up through inland Queensland and calling into various well known fishing holes along the way,” Ms Roth said.
“I know there is a good fishing hole at Croydon as well as red claw and barramundi at Theresa Ck while at Charters Towers anglers can check out the gold memorabilia before we head for Karumba.
“On the way back we’re told there is some good fishing in the dam at Cloncurry.
“We’ll then head to Winton and Longreach before fishing for yellow belly in the muddy Old Barcoo.”
