Reunion time in pavilion
FOUR generations of first-born Baldwin women travelled from around Queensland to get to the Mt Perry Show this year.
Shirley Baldwin and Karen Holm were both judges in the show pavilion, while Angela Vucurovic spent most of the day chasing after her lively daughter Isla.
“It was very special for us to all be together here today, especially since we don’t live close to each other,” Shirley said.
Angela and Isla travelled from Mackay to meet with Shirley and Karen who had crossed over from Bundaberg.
Shirley has been involved in shows most of her life and was pleased to see younger members of her family also taking an interest.
“I won my first chocolate cake section when I was 16,” she said.
“That certainly made me a popular dinner guest!”
Since then she has won state chocolate cake competitions many times and has even worked as a television cooking demonstrator.
“Maybe one day Isla will enjoy taking part in shows the way Karen and I have,” she said.
But for now, racing around the pavilion in her pink flower shoes was much more interesting to Isla.
FAMILY TREE: Karen Holm, Isla Vucurovic, Shirley Baldwin and Angela Vucurovic made up four generations of the Baldwin family who all attended the Mt Perry Show.
