Looking forward to the Monto show

Message from the president

Central and North Burnett Times - - MONTO SHOW 2014 - David Schulz President, Monto & District Show Society

THIS year’s Monto Show is shaping up to be one the best yet.

The grounds are looking superb and I would like to take this opportunity to thank our many volunteers for their time and efforts.

Good entries are being received so far with the campdraft already full and two-handed cutting also with good numbers.

The photography section was judged on Tuesday and saw entries from many new exhibitors.

The pavilion is going to be huge with sections for cooking, pot plants, farm produce, horticulture, floral art, fruit and vegetables, jams and sweets.

Entries will be taken right up until the Saturday morning of the show and anyone wanting more information will find it on our show society page online.

All the usual favourite competitions will be returning, including the prime cattle, stud cattle, poultry show, dog show, goat show, and the always popular chainsaw events and woodchop.

This year’s entertainment includes fireworks, MrWallace Puppets, Viv’s Animal Farm, bulls and barrels, sideshow alley, and the David Russell Motorbike Stunt Show.

We would like to see everyone come along and have a great time at this year’s show and enjoy what our district has to offer.
