Fi­nan­cial year ends well for Hamp­sons

MONTO’S fi­nal cat­tle sale for the fi­nan­cial year had 640 head yarded.

Prime bul­locks were firm on pre­vi­ous rates, but cows were slightly eas­ier by five cents.

Feeder steers and heifers sold to solid rates while lighter weaner steers sold from 130c/kg to 170c/kg and weaner heifers were slightly eas­ier.

Bulls sold from 110c to 135c/kg.

Ron and Mar­garet Hamp­son sold cracker santa bul­locks 780kg to $1195 or 153c/kg.

Earl Be­necke sold brah­man cross bul­locks 613kg to 150c/kg or $920 and Brian Hill, Hill­bor­ough Sta­tion, penned 557kg grey brah­man steers which re­turned $865 or 155c/kg.

Lurline Grav­ing penned brah­man cows to re­turn $650.

Mt Shaw Pas­toral sold 585kg red bran­gus cows to $680 or 116c/kg.

Store cows sold from 77c/kg to 105c/kg and prime heifers gen­er­ally sold from 115c to 135c/kg.

Greg Wil­liams sold char­bray steers 400kg for 167c/kg or $665.

SH and N Jensen’s droughtie cross No 3 steers re­turned $590 or 150c/kg.

Mt Shaw Pas­toral sold a run of No 3 and 4 red bran­gus steers 310kg to 370kg and sold from 155c to 161c/kg.

Ron Tal­bot’s bran­gus cross No 3 steers 430kg sold to 167c/kg or $725.

Kevin and Jennifer Roth’s No 4 char­bray steers 288kg sold to 166c/kg or $480.

Earl Be­necke penned drought­mas­ter No 4 steers 310kg to re­turn $465.

Richy Bow­man, Lay­back Downs, Lan­g­ley Flats, sold his quiet char­bray steers 250kg to 164c/kg.

Ian McLaugh­lan sold drought­mas­ter No 4 steers to 170c/kg or $500.

MD, RJ and WJ Brown sold qual­ity char­bray No 3 heifers 353kg to 150c/kg or $530 and drought­mas­ter heifers to 145c/kg or $527.

Mt Shaw Pas­toral sold No 3 and 4 cull heifers from 123c to 131c/kg, top­ping at $400.

Earl Be­necke’s qual­ity drought­mas­ter No 4 heifers 280kg sold to $340 or 121c/kg.

Kevin and Jennifer Roth’s char­bray No 4 heifers sold to 120c/kg or $326.
