Financial year ends well for Hampsons
MONTO’S final cattle sale for the financial year had 640 head yarded.
Prime bullocks were firm on previous rates, but cows were slightly easier by five cents.
Feeder steers and heifers sold to solid rates while lighter weaner steers sold from 130c/kg to 170c/kg and weaner heifers were slightly easier.
Bulls sold from 110c to 135c/kg.
Ron and Margaret Hampson sold cracker santa bullocks 780kg to $1195 or 153c/kg.
Earl Benecke sold brahman cross bullocks 613kg to 150c/kg or $920 and Brian Hill, Hillborough Station, penned 557kg grey brahman steers which returned $865 or 155c/kg.
Lurline Graving penned brahman cows to return $650.
Mt Shaw Pastoral sold 585kg red brangus cows to $680 or 116c/kg.
Store cows sold from 77c/kg to 105c/kg and prime heifers generally sold from 115c to 135c/kg.
Greg Williams sold charbray steers 400kg for 167c/kg or $665.
SH and N Jensen’s droughtie cross No 3 steers returned $590 or 150c/kg.
Mt Shaw Pastoral sold a run of No 3 and 4 red brangus steers 310kg to 370kg and sold from 155c to 161c/kg.
Ron Talbot’s brangus cross No 3 steers 430kg sold to 167c/kg or $725.
Kevin and Jennifer Roth’s No 4 charbray steers 288kg sold to 166c/kg or $480.
Earl Benecke penned droughtmaster No 4 steers 310kg to return $465.
Richy Bowman, Layback Downs, Langley Flats, sold his quiet charbray steers 250kg to 164c/kg.
Ian McLaughlan sold droughtmaster No 4 steers to 170c/kg or $500.
MD, RJ and WJ Brown sold quality charbray No 3 heifers 353kg to 150c/kg or $530 and droughtmaster heifers to 145c/kg or $527.
Mt Shaw Pastoral sold No 3 and 4 cull heifers from 123c to 131c/kg, topping at $400.
Earl Benecke’s quality droughtmaster No 4 heifers 280kg sold to $340 or 121c/kg.
Kevin and Jennifer Roth’s charbray No 4 heifers sold to 120c/kg or $326.
