Dallarnil team win at Bucca
LUCKILY for his fellow team mates, David Scholl read his rules before competing in the first round of the Gold Buckle series at Bucca.
With Deon Isles and Wayne Nilsen, the trio have competed in team penning and cutting at Dallarnil, Mt Perry and Bundaberg. They were disqualified three times because Scholl didn’t know the rules.
The former dairy farmer said with a laugh “before we started on Sunday morning, the guys gave me two pages of rules to read”.
They must have sunk in as they got their maximum of nine head into the enclosure in a faster time than second placers.
Scholl said I think the win may have been more luck than good management.
Third place was the Biggenden team of Ros Buczma with daughter Tamara and niece Teagan Bechly who were competing together for the first time.
Scholl said team penning was a family fun sport.
The trio will be back for the second of five rounds
