Funds for assets

Central and North Burnett Times - - NEWS -

NORTH Burnett Regional Council plan to spend $11.6 million on their capital works program in the 2014/2015 financial year budget, with $5.7 million to be soaked up by roads, streets and drainage assets.

Mayor Don Waugh said bitumen between Mundubbera-Gayndah would be an excellent asset for the region.

Cr Lofty Wendt also said Biggenden would benefit, with the approval of a new cabin at the council-operated caravan park.

“We are full from May to September and many of them are returnees,” he said. “Although the capital works fund is not huge, it’s good we can put it towards something to help local industry.”
