Music sets the mood
AT THE opening soiree, a musical tapestry wove together the new beach and outback inspired artworks now on display at Gayndah Art Gallery.
Music co-ordinators Helen Morris and Judith Woodman-Huth drew together performances by beginners and accomplished musicians, including Gayndah’s own choir. Gallery spokesperson Wendy Kirk said poems and songs were interspersed with lyrical instrumentals featuring harp, clarinet, saxophones and a baby grand.
Textile artist Fran Robinson and landscape artist Sandra Hines, both former teachers, were happy to see young students perform with the adults. The exhibition includes Fran’s Beachcomber and Sandra’s Colours of the Outback.
