Central and North Burnett Times - - NEWS -

GRANTS are now available to develop and implement projects that improve road safety or help reduce crime and fear of crime across the Central and North Burnett region.

The Queensland Police Service has joined forces with Suncorp Insurance to create a safer environment in 2014 by funding the fourth round of Safer Queensland Community Grants.

Community groups, not-for-profits and police throughout the region are encouraged to apply for the grants of between $1000 and $10,000 before July 31.

In the past three years, the Safer Queensland Community Grants program has funded a wide range of hugely beneficial crime prevention and road safety projects in regional communities. These have included awareness and education campaigns addressing youth violence, drink driving, home and property safety, as well as school and community driving education programs.
