In the spotlight
FORMER mayor Doug McIver did the honours at the Mundubbera Regional Art Gallery on Saturday as he opened the exhibition Spotlight on Mundubbera.
“This collection of art works has been long anticipated,” he said.
“It is wonderful to see it all come together.
“The 31 pieces in this collection all reflect the beauty and portray the history of the district that is Mundubbera.”
Mundubbera’s Dora Endres has produced a painting of The Old Schroder Home, which still stands today on the outskirts of Mundubbera.
“The original home was built in 1916 and stands as a remembrance of a bygone era,” Mrs Endres said.
Ellie Vangelovski-Stewart said her textile and machine embroidery of Moonlight on Tuan Creek was “a painstaking process, with each piece and colour individually positioned”.
Other paintings include landscapes, trees, rivers and waterfalls. The exhibition will be open from 10am–4.30pm daily and entry is free.
