Ruth Vicary I am very surprised and humbled by the result.

EVERYONE was a winner at the Most Marvellous Marmalade Competition at the Taste of the Burnett on Saturday.

Marmalade lovers were lining up to help judge the Mundubbera version of MasterChef.

When votes were counted for the favourite sticky treat, Ruth Vicary finished on top to take home the $500 prize.

“I am very surprised and humbled by the result,” Mrs Vicary said.

“I am also very thankful for the Bendigo Bank for putting together a very fun event.”

Everyone will get the chance to dip their fingers into the yummy marmalade, as 500 jars of the gold-medal preserve will be bottled and sold.

All profits from this will go to CareFlight helicopter rescue service.

Mundubbera Community Bank, in conjunction with MasterChef, oversaw the Mundubbera’s Most Marvellous Marmalade Competition.

Community Bank chairman Paul Dare presented Ruth Vicary with her first place prize of $500.

“We worked well in conjunction with MasterChef for this competition and all funds raised from the competition will go to the Starlight corporation,” Mr Dare said. “This very successful and fun event resulted in a great outcome for the community.”
