Time to rug up for cool starts

Central and North Burnett Times - - NEWS -

MANY parts of the state woke up to a cold and frosty morning last Saturday, bringing with it recordbreaking temperatures.

At the monthly markets at Biggenden on Saturday, Lions Club members along with stallholders had pulled out their winter woollies and grabbed a hot coffee to guard against the bitter cold as the temperatures dropped.

On Sunday morning it was crunchy underfoot as volunteers manned the gates across the district for the annual endurance ride.

One rider as they rode past called out “my nose won’t stop running”.

According to the weather bureau, another cold snap is on its way this weekend.

For those not working, all the more reason to pull the covers back over your head and stay in bed.
