What is endurance riding?

Central and North Burnett Times - - SPORT -

Endurance is all about the horse. Your horse is checked by a vet to ensure it is fit to start. It has its heart rate checked, temperature taken, gut listened to, hydration checked, and general muscle tone and condition checked, and then you are asked to run your horse around a short course to check that it isn’t lame.( They don’t worry if the rider is lame, just the horse.) Your horse will be checked again after the ride to ensure it is fit and healthy and, if needed, whetherit is fit to continue.
