FEEDER cat­tle over 350kg con­tinue to be the high­light of Monto Cat­tle and Coun­try’s fort­nightly sale.

Monto Cat­tle and Coun­try yarded 600 head for its sale held on Wed­nes­day, July 9.

Prime cat­tle sold to re­duced rates with not many good bul­locks yarded, and pro­ces­sors gen­er­ally bought heavy cows from 100c-115c/kg.

Meat­works bulls sold from 110c/kg to 125c/kg.

Glenda Dahtler sold Blonde cross bul­locks 753kg to $1065 or 141c/kg and M. Main sold trade steers 490kg to 151c/kg or $745.

Koatanui Pas­toral Co sold 600kg Char­bray cows to 113c/kg or $680.

JA and SN Clarke’s Drought­mas­ter cows sold to 115c/kg or $615, and a fair run of plainer cows was yarded and sold from 75c/kg to 100c/kg.

P and L Dredge sold Char­bray cross trade heifers to $785 or 143c/kg and four-tooth heifers to $610 or 130c/kg.

Richie Bow­man sold Char­bray trade heifers to 140c/kg or $560.

Robert Mor­ris yarded Limousin cross steers 405kg which sold to 160c/kg or $645.

Nev and He­len Iversen yarded Santa cross steers 410kg which sold to $620 or 151c/kg and the Keiler Fam­ily sold Santa No 3 steers 330kg for $520 or 158c/kg.

Len Mor­ris yarded Red Bran­gus cross No 3 steers which sold to $560 or 150c/kg.

Steve and Sue Wil­liams sold Santa weaner steers 275kg for 166c/kg or $460, MW and OA Smith penned Santa cross weaner steers which sold to $435 or 164c/kg and Charl­ton Doblo, “Eden”, Na­goorin, sold Santa cross weaner steers 214kg for 161c/kg or $345.

M and J Gower, Ban­croft, sold Bran­gus weaner steers 183kg for 161c/kg re­turn­ing $295.

TJ and SL Clarke penned qual­ity No 3 Drought­mas­ter heifers 340kg which sold to 146c/kg or $496.

Nev and He­len Iversen sold Brah­man cross 326kg No 3 heifers for 141c/kg or $460 and Bob Schutt’s No 3 Drought­mas­ter heifers 377kg sold to 137c/kg or $517.

Dick and Fay­lene Ni­chol, “Riverview”, Eidsvold, sold qual­ity Char­bray weaner heifers 318kg for 132.2c/kg or $288 while Earl Be­necke’s Drought­mas­ter cross weaner heifers sold to $340.

Monto’s Next Fat and Store sale will be held on Wed­nes­day, July 23.
