Teams test knowledge for YMCA
Successful event raises $2900 for gym renovations
IN A pursuit anything but trivial, YMCA Gayndah’s trivia night raised about $2900 towards its gym renovations.
President Dael Giddins described the community support from participants, sponsors and volunteers as “just awesome”.
“A total of 19 teams turned up for the event – more than expected, and the largest number of teams for any trivia night that I can remember,” Ms Giddins said.
A new, well-received round was trialled, in which teams guessed the band and song from a screened video.
All rounds were closely contested, with some needing a tie-breaker to get a winner, Ms Giddins said.
“The winning margin was only a half-point difference between No Knots and Won Notion, with third place going to Village Idiots.
“The best dressed award went to Tasha Shepherd in her referee’s outfit.”
Ms Giddins gave special thanks to gold sponsor RMPS Engineering, silver sponsors Cardno and Fulton Hogan, local businesses for prizes on the night and to volunteers.
